Mason peed...

in a potty!
Not his potty though.

I decided to take off his diaper in hopes that he would use the potty rather than peeing all over the floor. So I let him run around and play cars for a bit. A few minutes later I hear "PEEEE" and see Mason coming over to me out of the corner of my eye.

I turn around and see this little potty....

Filled to the brim with pee. Guess I should be more specific next time when I tell him to pee on the potty.

Hot summer days...

Spent in wal-mart with air-conditioning...gotta love it. Mason is a trooper when it comes to shopping. He'll hang out in that stroller for hours with me. Of course he begs for things all the time...usually I can say no but sometimes it's so hard to resist this face:

So of course I cave in and get him these:

Which, of course no toddler can possibly live without. How about trying to get him to choose just ONE toy...not happening.

In other news...watch out! Mason got his first super-soaker!!

...and he's not afraid to use it either!!

Babysitting...

Today I left Mason with my friend Delena (hi!!) while my mom and I went to Buffy's baby shower. It went really well! I sent him with a can of spaghetti-oh's for dinner (pathetic, I know) and I was amazed to see him come home with a clean shirt!

I was so shocked...I'm going to ask Delena her secrets for clean shirts *lol* because I was in awe of how clean he was when he came home!

Riding in style...

Mason got a brand new car seat complete with cup holder and head cushion. He loves it! Looking forward to a road trip so we can give it a test drive. The trip from his Grandma's house to here was too short for him, he wanted to stay in the seat!

Bugs...

Just got over a nasty computer virus and ended up wiping my entire hard drive. Luckily I had the chance to back up all the pictures and stuff to cds before everything got wiped out.

So dealing with that was lovely. Then the next day Mason got sent home from daycare with "a few little friends". I'm almost positive they are all gone yet but I'm really thinking about not sending him back to school. Why would I? So he can come home with "more friends". I'm done. This is disgusting

"Cho-Chit"

Mason is picking up new words everyday. Yesterday he wanted a granola bar. I'm trying to instill some healthy eating rules so I gave him a yogurt covered one (much healthier than the chocolate ones I would think...but who knows). So I handed him the granola bar and he had a flip out and started screaming CHO-CHIT CHO-CHIT...at first I thought he was saying No Shit *lol* but then I realized, this is how he says chocolate...it's soooo cute!! I was making him say it all day yesterday :D

Mason's First Field Trip

Mason went on his first field trip today. His class went to the center branch YMCA for a little swim in the wee bitty pool they have there. I decided to be a parent volunteer for this trip just because Mason has never been on a school trip before...especially not swimming in such a big group.

I think he loved the bus most of all. We all got on one of those big orange (or are they yellow) school buses- blast from the past for me! I haven't been on one of those in a very very long time. Mason loved the bus and he was the only little kid to say hi to the bus driver. Reminded me of the kid on Forrest Gump.

The pool was a lot of fun...contrary to the photographic evidence from the event...Mason had a great time. He even wanted to jump in the big pool they had there....luckily I caught him in time before he decided to dive in...even if his feet would be nowhere near the bottom.

All in all...everything went great and next time I probably won't even have to go to make myself feel any better. The pool is so shallow and they have so many people watching the kids that I'm sure he would be safe.

A brand new blog

This blog is to keep family and friends updated daily (well...hopefully). Mason has been doing so much new stuff lately and it's so hard to keep everyone updated so this is the place for you if you want to hear all about my favourite little guy.

Today Mason had a fun-filled day at daycare. He met with the speech therapist there this morning and we went over his schedule. They will come to meet with him every Wednesday afternoon to do little one-on-one activities with him and after 9 weeks we will do another assessment to see if his speech has improved any.

He's doing very well with this therapist. Today they worked on body parts. I sat in and watched and I was blown away by how much he knows that I wasn't aware of. He pointed out his back...I don't think I've ever asked him to point out his back before. He got to play with a Mr. Potato Head and do a craft (by the way...Mason and glue stick...bad combination!). You should see the craft he did. It was a little body puzzle and you had to paste the head and body etc on the paper. My mom and I laughed because he had both arms on one side...he's creative, I'll give him that much!

Tomorrow he's going swimming. His first class trip. Of course I was too nervous to let him go swimming alone with his class so I volunteered to help on the trip. I'm secretly hoping I won't have to help out much though *lol* These older kids in his new class freak me out!
